Yum Kings Court

Yum Kings Court is a small operation we run out of Nagarabhavi 18. It’s just a basic setup, nothing like those big chain restaurants you see in the malls. We started out with just a few tables and a small stove, and not much has changed since then. The area around Nagarabhavi is always growing, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. Most of the people who come here are from the local houses nearby. They know us by name, and we know what they usually want to eat without them even asking. It gets pretty crowded in the evenings when the students are out. We don't have a lot of space, so sometimes people have to wait outside on the sidewalk. The kitchen is right there behind the counter, so you can see and hear everything being made. It gets loud and smoky when we’re busy. We do our own cleaning and shopping for ingredients every morning. Sometimes we run out of stuff before the day is over, and we just have to tell people we’re done for the night. We aren't trying to be anything special or fancy. We just like having this spot at number 18. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours standing on our feet, but it’s what we do. If the paint is peeling a bit on the walls, it’s just because we haven't had time to fix it yet. We just keep going as best as we can.
