Yaadgar Fast Food

Yaadgar Fast Food is located right on Geddalahalli Ashram Road 541. It’s a pretty straightforward place where we make things like rolls and fried items. The tawa is almost always hot from the moment we open up. We spend a lot of time chopping onions and green chilies in the back room. The road outside can get dusty, so we are constantly wiping down the front counter to keep it looking decent. People from the ashram and the nearby houses walk past all day. Some of them have been coming to us for years. We don't really do anything complicated. It’s just about getting the oil to the right temperature and making sure we don't burn the bread. The evenings are usually the busiest when the students come by after their classes are over. It gets a bit cramped inside when five or six people are waiting for their orders at the same time. We usually have a radio playing in the corner, but you can barely hear it over the sound of the frying and the traffic outside. When we finally close up at night, we count the register and put the leftover vegetables away. It’s just a regular fast food shop trying to keep up with the daily rush on Ashram Road. We like the neighborhood we are in and the people who visit us regularly.
