Y S Subramanya Iyer operates out of F-317 in the Jeevanusrabhi Apartments, which is a fairly large complex in Block 30 of JP Nagar. To find us, you have to go to the 1st Phase, near the 10th B Cross and 25th Main. It is a quiet residential area, which is nice because it stays away from the heavy noise of the main Bangalore traffic. The apartment is on the third floor, so there are a few flights of stairs to climb or you can take the lift if it is working that day. We have set up a workspace in one of the rooms with a big wooden table and a couple of filing cabinets. It is very much a home-based setup where the atmosphere is calm and informal. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that, just the door number. Most of the time is spent on the phone or working on the computer while the sounds of the apartment complex, like kids playing or people washing cars, filter in through the balcony. Being in JP Nagar is convenient because everything is close by, but our specific block is tucked away enough to feel private. We drink a lot of coffee while we work and sometimes the neighbors pop in to say hello. It is not like a standard office building where everything is cold and professional. It is just a person doing their job from home.
