Vinayaka Traders

Vinayaka Traders is over in Bommanahalli at 285/2 on CG Road. We are basically a supply shop. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, and sometimes it's hard to find exactly what you're looking for without asking us. We deal with various goods that local builders and contractors need. The shop is a bit narrow, so things are stacked pretty high. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking with suppliers or telling customers when their stuff will arrive. The CG Road area is always busy, so there's usually a motorbike or a truck parked out front loading up. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying. My back definitely feels it by the end of the week. We don't have a fancy display window. Most people just know us by the sign and the fact that we’ve been here for years. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll usually see one of us behind the counter. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the next customer to walk in. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to work by the light from the door, but we're used to it. We have a ledger that we still use for some of the older accounts. It feels more reliable than the computer sometimes. We know most of our customers by their first names and what they usually buy. It’s just a simple trade. We buy things, we sell things, and we try to keep the shop running.
