Venkatesan Stores

Venkatesan Stores is located at 12-9-1 in the Subaiya Reddy Layout, over in the Banaswadi area. It is a typical neighborhood store that has been around for some time. We have our shelves stocked with all the basic items people need for their daily lives at home. Banaswadi is a busy residential area and our layout is right in the thick of all the houses. The shop itself is not very big, so we have to use every bit of shelf space we have. Boxes are often stacked up near the entrance when a new delivery comes in. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. They have been shopping with us for years and we've seen their kids grow up. It is a lot of hard work keeping everything in stock and organized throughout the week. We open up early in the morning and stay open until fairly late so people can pick things up on their way home from work. The floors are a bit worn down from all the foot traffic over the years. We do not have any fancy lighting or air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that hum. It gets the job done for us. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in for small sweets and the older folks stay for a while to talk about the weather or the local news. It is just our daily routine. We do not have a big corporate strategy. We just try to have what people need at a fair price. It is a simple business. We live nearby too.
