Venkataramana

Venkataramana is out in Kadugodi, specifically along Bhandarkar Institute Road. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the center of the city, but it’s a nice area once you get here. We have a small building that serves as our main base of operations. The road outside can be a bit dusty, and we see a lot of people passing by on their way to the institute or the nearby shops. Our work day usually starts with a bit of cleaning and then we get stuck into the various tasks we have lined up. We don't have any big mission statements or corporate slogans; we just try to get through the list of things that need doing. The inside of the place is mostly functional with some old desks and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. We keep a calendar on the wall to track the weeks, and there is usually a fan humming in the corner to keep the air moving. Bhandarkar Institute Road is a local thoroughfare, so we get to see the same faces every day. We spend a lot of time just talking to folks who stop in to ask a question or look at what we have. It’s a small-scale operation and we handle everything ourselves, from the paperwork to the heavy lifting. We’ve been here long enough that we feel like part of the scenery. It’s just an honest way to spend the day, working out of this spot in Kadugodi.
