Veg By Nature

We set up Veg By Nature over here in Whitefield, specifically at HAL 2nd Stage 72. It’s a vegetarian place because that’s what we know how to cook best. The kitchen is usually a bit of a mess during the lunch hour with all the chopping and steaming going on. We get our vegetables from the local market, so the menu depends on what looked good that morning. It’s not a fancy establishment with a lot of decorations. We just have sturdy tables and enough plates to go around. A lot of families from the nearby apartments come in on the weekends, so it gets pretty loud with kids running around. We try to keep things moving so no one has to wait too long for a table. The floor is tiled and easy to mop, which is good because we have to do it several times a day. Sometimes we run out of the daily special before one o’clock, and we just have to tell people we're sorry. That’s just the way it goes when you’re small. The staff is mostly local people who live within walking distance. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a kitchen and a dining area where we try to serve food that tastes like what you’d get at home. It’s a plain, honest business and we like it that way.
