Vayu Engineering is located over at Banashankari 3rd Stage, house number 41426. It’s a residential-looking area but there’s a fair bit of work going on behind the doors. We use the ground floor as our main workshop and the floor above for the paperwork and drawings. It’s a bit dusty because of all the metalwork and drilling we do. You can usually hear a grinder going or someone hammering something into place. We have a few heavy machines that take up most of the floor space, so you have to watch your step. The walls are lined with tool racks that aren't as organized as we'd like, but we can usually find what we need after a bit of searching. We get our hands dirty every day. There’s no avoiding the grease and the metal shavings. Our team is small, just a handful of us who know how to handle the equipment. We don't have a dress code; if your clothes get stained, it just shows you were working. We spend a lot of time measuring things twice and cutting them once, though sometimes we still make mistakes and have to start over. It’s honest labor. When the power goes out, which happens now and then, we just sit outside on the steps and wait for it to come back, talking about what we’re going to fix next. We don't have a fancy lobby, just a small stool by the door where visitors can wait.
