Working from the 6th floor of Hvs Apartment in Bangalore feels a bit different than being on a ground-floor yard. We are Universal Construction Machinery & Equipment Ltd, and our space is in 6A. It is the spot where we handle all the logistics and the back-end side of the machinery business. Managing heavy construction equipment from an apartment building involves a lot of phone calls and sitting at desks. Bangalore is always growing, so there is never a truly quiet day for us. We deal with the heavy stuff even if we are sitting in a high-rise office. Sometimes the lift in Hvs Apartment is slow or busy, and we are rushing around trying to coordinate equipment deliveries across Karnataka. It is not a polished office with glass walls or modern art. It is a very practical space with a lot of files. We spend most of our hours talking to site managers and making sure the machinery actually gets to where it is supposed to be. The traffic in Bangalore makes every delivery a bit of a gamble, but we manage to make it work. We have been at this for quite a while and we know which machines are best for specific jobs. People come by sometimes, though we are usually out on site or busy on the phones. It is a bit cramped with all the technical catalogs everywhere, but it serves us well for what we need to do.
