Tungtung Chaats

If you are walking around Koramangala near the Spencers Hyper Mart on the 80 Ft Road, you will find us at Tungtung Chaats. We are right there in the 1st Block. It is a lively spot because of the shoppers coming in and out of the mart all day. I am usually busy chopping onions or refilling the tamarind water. The space is small, so we have to be very organized or everything becomes a mess. People stop by after they finish their grocery shopping, often with bags hanging from their arms. The 80 Ft Road is always full of cars, so there is a constant hum of engines in the background. We use a lot of disposable plates and there is always a bit of a scramble to keep the bin from getting too full. The evening is when it really picks up, as the lights on the street come on and the air gets a little cooler. I like seeing the same faces every week, mostly people who live nearby in the apartments. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics to get the job done. Sometimes the wind blows the smell of the spices toward the main road. It is just a small corner for a quick bite, and we try to keep things moving as fast as we can.
