Thirumala Condiments

Down in Chikkalasandra at 13/3, our little shop sits right on the corner. It’s a small place, mostly filled with jars of snacks and packets of tea. We call it Thirumala Condiments because that’s the name we started with years ago and it just stuck. Every morning starts early with the smell of coffee brewing. We get the local residents coming in for their morning filter coffee and a bit of a chat about the news or the weather. It’s not a place where you sit down for a long three-course meal. People stand around the small counters outside or just lean against their scooters while they eat a quick snack. We make a lot of the savory bits ourselves in the small kitchen area at the back. It gets tight in there when two or three of us are working at once. We don't have a big menu; just the usual things that people around here expect to find. Sometimes we run out of something popular by the evening, and we just tell people they have to come back tomorrow morning. We know most of our customers by their names, or at least we know what they usually order without them asking. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We deal with the rain, the heat, and the traffic, but as long as people keep coming for their coffee, we’re happy to be here.
