The Valley School

The Valley School is located way out on Kanakapura Road, near Thatguni Post. It’s quite a distance from the middle of Bangalore, so the drive out here can take some time depending on the traffic. Once you get past the main busy stretches of the road, things start to open up a bit. We are situated in a spot that feels very much connected to the land around it. It’s not like those schools you see in the middle of a shopping district. Here, it’s mostly about the trees and the quiet. We spend our mornings getting things ready before the students arrive. There isn't much noise other than the birds and the occasional bus going by on the main road. The buildings are spread out and simple, nothing like those modern glass structures you see nowadays. We prefer it that way. It’s a lot of work to maintain a place like this because there’s so much ground to cover. We don't have a big fancy reception area; it’s more of a place where you just walk in and find someone to talk to. Most of us have been here for a while and we just like the pace of things. It’s a practical way to run a school, focusing on the environment we have in Thatguni. We just take care of the place and the people in it every day.
