The Tao Terraces

The Tao Terraces is located at Mahathma Gandhi Road 1, which is a pretty busy part of the city. Being up on the terrace means you are away from the immediate noise of the street, but you can still hear the honking from down below. I spend a lot of time walking across the floorboards and checking on the tables. The furniture has been here for a while and you can see the wear on some of the chairs, but it is comfortable. We have a lot of plants around to make it feel less like a city building. The elevator up to the top is sometimes a bit slow, so people arrive in groups after waiting a bit. When the sun goes down, the lights of MG Road look quite bright from up here. We spend a lot of time wiping down the glass railings because the smog makes them cloudy pretty fast. It is a different vibe than being on the ground level. We keep the music going, but not so loud that you can't talk. The staff is mostly just focused on getting through the shift and making sure everyone has what they need. It is a big space to cover, so my feet usually ache by the end of the night. It is just a rooftop spot at the start of the road.
