The Pink Poppadom

We are over at Ulsoor on the New Timber Market Road, in the Bhawani Peth area with the zip code 41275. It’s an interesting part of town to be in, with all the market activity and the trucks moving around throughout the day. Our daily routine is pretty straightforward: we arrive, open the shutters, and start getting the kitchen ready for the shift. There is always something that needs fixing or cleaning, so we stay pretty busy even before we officially open. We aren't a fancy corporate team; we’re just a few people who know this road well and like being part of the neighborhood. The dining room has a certain feel to it, especially when the light comes in through the front windows in the late afternoon. We spend a lot of time checking our stock and making sure the ingredients are exactly what we need for the pots. Sometimes the traffic on New Timber Market Road makes it hard to hear ourselves think, but we’ve learned to work around the noise. We don’t go in for big, polished speeches about what we do. We just cook, serve, and clean up at the end of the night. Being in Bhawani Peth has its own set of challenges, like the occasional dusty day, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s just our little spot at 41275, and we take it one day at a time.
