The Himalaya Drug Company

The Himalaya Drug Company is out in Makali. It is a bit of a drive from the main city center, but it’s a lot quieter out here than in the middle of Bangalore. The campus is quite large and it’s where most of the work happens for us. We spend our days surrounded by the smells of herbs and the sounds of the machinery running. It is a very different vibe from a typical city office. There’s more space here, and you can actually see some greenery when you look out the window. Most of us have been working here at the Makali site for years, so it feels like a second home. The mornings usually start with the staff buses pulling in and everyone heading to their respective sections. Whether it’s in the processing area or the storage rooms, there is always a lot to do. We don’t really worry about the polish of the place; it’s more about the work we are doing with the plants and the products. It is a steady environment. We just follow the processes that have been in place for a long time. Even though we are on the outskirts, it feels like its own little world. We just keep our heads down and do our jobs in the quiet of Makali. It is a long day for most of us, but we are used to the routine by now.
