Tara Contemporary Store

Our shop, Tara Contemporary Store, is located at units 3 and 4 in Raju Arcade on Dickenson Road, right by the Commercial Street signal. It’s a very busy corner. If you’ve ever tried to park a car near Commercial Street, you know the struggle is real. We’ve been here for a while, selling a mix of things that we think look good. It’s not a massive department store by any means. It’s more like a collection of items we’ve picked out—some clothes, maybe some home stuff, it varies from month to month. We don't have a polished corporate look. The shelves are a bit crowded and the lighting isn't perfect, but it feels like a real shop where you can browse. My sister and I run the place, and we usually have one person helping us with the customers. We don’t do big sales or fancy window displays that change every single week. We just put out what we have on the racks. Sometimes people come in just to escape the afternoon heat and end up looking around for an hour. We don’t mind. It’s a friendly place. The signal outside is always loud with horns, but inside we try to keep it a bit more relaxed. We aren't trying to be a high-end designer boutique. We just want to offer things that are a bit different from the usual stuff you find in the bigger malls. It’s a simple retail life, and we like being part of this neighborhood.
