Tandoor Terrain

Tandoor Terrain is located in Majestic, specifically at Motilal Nagar 7. Being near Majestic means there is never a quiet moment. There are always buses and people moving around at all hours. We start the fire in the tandoor every afternoon so it’s hot enough by evening. The smoke can get in your eyes if the wind blows the wrong way. Our walls have turned a bit dark over time because of the coal, no matter how much we scrub them. It’s a small space, so you can really feel the heat coming off the clay oven. Most of our customers are people catching a bus or finishing a long shift at the shops nearby. They aren't looking for anything fancy, just something hot to eat before they head home. We don’t have fancy plates or cloth napkins. It’s all very basic here. Sometimes the sink leaks a little, and we have to put a bucket under it until the plumber can come by next week. We’ve had the same menu since we opened, and we haven't felt the need to change it. People like what they like. The chairs are mismatched because we’ve replaced them one by one over the years. It’s a bit of a squeeze when it’s raining outside and everyone tries to crowd indoors. We just keep the fire going and keep serving until the coal runs low late at night.
