We are located at 53 Kasturiba Nagar within the B J Patel Industrial Estate. It is a busy place with a lot of noise from the nearby units. Our shop, Swastik Glass Pvt Ltd, has been here for a good while. We mostly deal with different types of glass sheets. The space is a bit cramped because we have to store so many large crates. Most of the day is spent cutting pieces to the right size for customers who come in. We get a lot of dust from the cutting process, so there is always a layer of it on the tables. It is not a fancy office, just a workspace where we get things done. The light coming through the front windows shows all the smudges on the glass. We have a few guys helping with the heavy lifting because those sheets are really heavy. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane outside. It is just part of being in an industrial area. We keep some basic mirrors and window panes in stock. People from the neighborhood come by when they have a broken window at home. We just measure it out and give them what they need. It’s a straightforward business and we don't have time for much else. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually take our breaks when things get too quiet for a few minutes.
