Swami Catering

Swami Catering is located at No.5, near the White House in Gittamal Layout, which is part of Dooravaninagar. The "White House" is a local landmark that everyone around here knows, so it helps people find us. Gittamal Layout is a relatively quiet area compared to the main roads, but our kitchen is anything but quiet. We have a modest setup in a single-story building. It is not a large space, so we have to be very careful about where we stack our supplies. The shelves are filled with large tins and bags of grain. We start our work early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. By mid-day, the kitchen gets quite warm and the fans are running at full speed. We don't have a showroom or a fancy office. It is just a place for cooking and packing. The walls are mostly bare except for a few notes pinned up about the day's schedule. The sink is always running and there is usually a stack of dishes waiting to be cleaned. We use every inch of the counter space we have. Sometimes we have to move the packing tables outside to the small porch to make more room. It is a simple, honest way to work and we have been doing it this way for years. The neighborhood is friendly and we often see the same people walking by every day.
