My name is Sushma and I run things from the Premier Gruhalakshmi Apartment in Bangalore. Being in an apartment complex makes it a bit different than a traditional office. You have to deal with the security at the gate and the elevator wait times, but it’s a nice community to be part of in the 560015 area. I have my workspace set up in one of the rooms, and it’s filled with everything I need to stay productive. It’s not a large space, so I have to be careful about not letting the clutter get out of hand, though I don’t always succeed at that. Bangalore is such a hub for activity, and even from inside this apartment, you can feel that buzz. My days are mostly spent on the computer or organizing various projects. I don't have a big staff, so I end up doing a lot of the small tasks myself, like fixing the stapler or sorting the mail. It feels more personal this way. I like knowing every detail of what is happening. The light in this apartment is good in the mornings, which helps when I’m trying to get a head start on the day. It’s a quiet, steady way to work without all the distractions of a main road. People who know me know this is where the work happens, and they know I’m usually here late.
