Subway

Our shop is over in Indira Nagar, right on 1st Main Road in the 2nd Stage area near Domlur. It’s a busy little corner of the world. Most days start with the smell of the bread baking in the ovens, which is probably the most recognizable thing about this place. We spend a lot of time on prep work, cutting up lettuce, tomatoes, and onions so everything is ready for the lunch rush. It gets pretty frantic around noon when people from the nearby offices start showing up all at once. We just stand behind the counter and move as fast as we can. The 2nd Stage area has a lot going on, so there’s always someone walking past the window. Some people come in every single day and order the exact same thing without even looking at the menu board. We’ve got a small team here. We mostly just talk about the weather or how bad the traffic was on the way to work. It’s a simple job, really. You just put the ingredients together like the customer wants. When the shift ends, we clean up the counters, mop the floor, and get ready to do it all over again tomorrow. It’s not complicated, and we don’t try to make it seem like more than it is. Just a place to get a sandwich in Indira Nagar. We keep it running and stay busy until the lights go off.
