Subway

Subway is located at 175 and 176 in Bilekahalli. It’s a simple shop where we spend most of our time behind the long glass counter. You can smell the bread baking from the street sometimes, which usually brings people in when they are walking past. We have a few small tables along the wall, but it’s not a place for big parties. Most people are just grabbing something on their way to work or during their lunch break. The vegetables come in fresh every morning, and we spend a good chunk of the time chopping them up. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we’ve got a good system going among the staff. The tiles on the floor are white and show every bit of dirt, so we are constantly cleaning during the day. We see a lot of students and office workers since there are so many buildings nearby. It’s not a quiet place because the large fridge units hum quite loudly. We try to keep the line moving fast so nobody gets frustrated waiting. Sometimes the bell on the door doesn't stop ringing for an hour straight. We don't use any complicated machines, just the toaster and our hands to put things together. It’s a basic setup that works for the neighborhood. We’ve been here at this address for a while and have seen the area change quite a bit around us. It is just a normal sandwich shop.
