St. Francis Xavier Girls High School

St. Francis Xavier Girls High School sits over on Promenade Road in Frazer Town. It is at number 49. If you know this part of Bangalore, you know how the trees line the streets and it has that old-school feel. We have been a part of this community for a long time. The girls come in every morning and the whole area gets quite lively. Frazer Town has its own rhythm and we are right in the middle of it. The building itself has seen many years and many students pass through its doors. It’s not a shiny new glass structure or anything like that, just a solid brick and mortar school. We keep the classrooms tidy and the hallways are usually full of chatter during the breaks. Walking down Promenade Road, you can usually hear the bell or the sounds of the playground if you’re passing by at the right time. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We don’t go in for anything too flashy. The staff here mostly lives nearby or knows the area well, so it feels like a neighborhood fixture. Some of the families have been sending their daughters here for generations now. It’s just how things are in this part of town. We open the gates early and stay until the last bus leaves. It is a lot of work but it’s what we do. It has always been enough for us.
