Sri Venkateshwar Spices

We are located right in the middle of the APMC Yard. It’s a hectic place to be, especially on market days when everyone is trying to move their goods at the same time. We’ve been operating out of this stall for quite a bit. It’s mostly just us handling the bulk bags of spices coming through the yard. There is constant shouting and the sound of tractors all day long. We don't have much time for small talk when the trucks are lining up. The floor is usually covered in some kind of spice dust. We spend a lot of time weighing and re-bagging stuff. It’s a family thing, so everyone chips in when it’s busy. My cousins are usually here helping with the heavy lifting. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know us by name in the yard. If you come by in the afternoon, it's a bit quieter but not by much. We’ve seen a lot of neighbors come and go over the years, but we’re still here in the same spot. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the bags are sealed. You learn to live with the heat in the yard. It's just part of the daily grind for us here.
