Sri V S Food

Our little spot at 20/1 in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar stays quite busy most days. I started working here because I like being around food and talking to people. It’s not a huge place, just a kitchen and a few tables where people can sit if they aren't in a hurry. We mostly get the local crowd from around the blocks nearby. It’s funny how you start to remember exactly what someone wants before they even say a word. I usually get here around seven to get the stove going. The building is older, but it works for what we need. We don't have a big menu with pictures or anything like that. Just the things we make well. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for the address, so I end up standing outside waving them down. It’s just a regular life running a food place. My hands always smell like spices or onions, no matter how much I wash them. We try to keep things organized, but when the lunch rush hits, it gets a bit messy for an hour or so. Then it quietens down and I get a chance to sit and have a tea. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time now. It feels like home more than a shop. Nothing fancy, just good daily meals for whoever stops by. I usually close up when the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
