You’ll find us out at the 21st kilometer on Kanakapura Road, near Udayapura. It’s a bit of a drive from the main part of Bangalore, but it’s quieter out here, which suits a place like Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital. We have both the college and the hospital on the same site, so there are always students in their white coats walking around and patients coming in for treatments. The air feels a bit different here compared to the city center because of all the trees and the open space. We grow a lot of the herbs used in the medicines right on the grounds, so you might catch the smell of something cooking in the pharmacy area. It’s a busy place, but it doesn't feel like those rushed, modern hospitals. Things take time here. The buildings are large and functional, not particularly decorative. We have a lot of people staying with us for long-term care, so it feels a bit like a small village. The students spend a lot of time in the library or practicing their techniques in the clinics. It’s a lot of hard work for them, especially during exam season. We don't spend much time on fancy presentations. We just focus on the patients and the teaching. It’s a long day for everyone, from the doctors to the kitchen staff, but we just keep going.
