Sri Sai Mens Saloon

Sri Sai Mens Saloon is over at No 34 in Cambridge Layout, specifically on the 6th Cross in Ulsoor. We are situated directly opposite the SAI Baba Temple, which brings a lot of peace to the area, though it gets quite busy on Thursdays with all the devotees. The shop is a humble one for men who need a trim or a shave. We have a few old-fashioned barber chairs that have been here for a long time. The floor is tile and we try to keep it swept, but on busy days the hair piles up fast. Many of our regulars come in after visiting the temple across the street. We have a small television in the corner that is usually showing the news or a cricket match if India is playing. It is a friendly place where the customers know the barbers well and we talk about the neighborhood and how Ulsoor is changing. The air inside always smells a bit like aftershave and incense from the temple. We don't have any of those fancy spa treatments, just a straight-up haircut and maybe a quick head rub if the customer wants to relax. It is a small space, but we make it work for everyone who comes through the door. People like it here because it is familiar and they know exactly what they are getting. It is just a part of the local street life in Cambridge Layout.
