Sri Laksmi Narasimha Swamy Parlor

Our parlor is situated at 199 Tapkir Lane in Lakshmipura. It’s a small shop in a residential area. We’ve been here for a good amount of time and most of the people who come in are our neighbors. We call it a parlor but it’s really just a simple place to get snacks and drinks. We have a counter where we keep everything. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We spend our days making sure we have enough stock on the shelves. Sometimes we run out of things if a lot of people come by at once. The lane outside is pretty quiet most of the time except when school lets out. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. People find us because they live nearby. We use old-fashioned scales to weigh some of the items. It’s just the way we’ve always done it. We close up when it gets dark and the street gets quiet. Working here is okay. You get to hear all the local news and gossip while people are waiting. We don't try to be something we're not. It’s just a small local shop run by regular people who want to earn a living. We appreciate the people who keep coming back to us even when we're running slow. It keeps the bills paid and the lights on in the shop.
