Sri Sagar Fast Food

Our little place, Sri Sagar Fast Food, is right near the EBG Factory on Ajwa Vagudia Road in Gandhi Nagar. Because we are so close to the factory, our whole schedule depends on their shift changes. When the whistle blows or the gates open, we know we are about to get very busy. We have a long metal counter where people stand to eat their food. There isn't much room for sitting, so most workers just grab something and stand outside on the road. The air out here can get a bit dusty from all the trucks going to the factory. We spend a lot of time cleaning the grease off the counters and the stove. It’s a hot job, especially in the summer when the sun hits the front of the building. We keep a cooler with some cold drinks, but mostly people want hot food. I usually handle the money while the other guys do the cooking. We have a small sink in the back for washing up, and we have to be careful not to waste water. The Ajwa Vagudia Road is always busy, so there is no shortage of things to look at. We are just a simple food stall trying to feed the people who work hard nearby. By the time the factory lights go down, we are usually packing up our things and heading home ourselves. It’s hard work, but we are used to it now.
