Sri Ramakrishna Dept Store

Wilson Garden is a busy place, especially around 10th Cross where we are set up. Our store sits right at number 279, which is literally next to the Karnataka Bank branch. Having the bank there means there's always a lot of people moving around, even if they aren't coming in here. Inside Sri Ramakrishna Dept Store, we have rows of shelves that we try to keep tidy, though things get messy pretty fast on busy days. The floor is that old grey stone that never quite looks perfectly clean even after a good mopping. We spend a lot of our time just unpacking crates and putting stuff away. The back room is quite small, so we have to be careful about how we stack the extra boxes. Sometimes the delivery trucks arrive late and block the front for a bit. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than four people are in the aisles at once. We don't have any fancy signs or bright lights, just the usual tubes that flicker sometimes. Most of our regulars live in the blocks nearby and they usually stop by on their way home from work. It’s just a regular neighborhood shop that’s been here for some time now. We keep the ledger on the desk and try to stay on top of the inventory. It's a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things, but that is how it goes every day.
