Sri Ram Foods

The Market Road area is always a bit of a scramble, and we are tucked away at 45-37/9 in Mallige Lane. Sri Ram Foods is a small operation, really. Most of our work happens early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. We get the raw materials in and start the preparation for the food items we handle. Mallige Lane is narrow, so when a big delivery comes, it blocks the whole path for a few minutes, and we have to hurry to get things inside. The kitchen area is basic but functional. We have a couple of large stoves and big metal pots that we’ve used for years. It’s not a shiny corporate kitchen; it’s a place where real cooking happens. You can hear the clinking of pans and the sound of water running almost all day long. We don’t spend much on decorations because we are more focused on the actual food. Sometimes the floor gets a bit slippery when we are cleaning up, so we have to be careful. The staff here are all local, and we just talk about our families or the local news while we work. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve fallen into over the years. We stay here until the orders are finished and the cleaning is done. It’s a simple, hardworking life on this side of the market.
