Sri Chamundi Engineering

Our workshop is located at number 88 in Tharagupet, right in the Transport Nagar area. It’s a gritty place, mostly because of all the heavy metal work we do here at Sri Chamundi Engineering. We have big machines that take up most of the floor space. There is always a layer of dust on the windows. We wear heavy boots and spend most of the day on our feet. The noise of grinding and welding is pretty constant from eight in the morning. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice suit. We deal with a lot of local transport businesses since we are right in their neighborhood. Sometimes a truck will pull up right to the door and we have to drop everything to help out. It’s a busy environment. We keep our tools organized on big boards, though things often go missing. The office is just a small wooden desk in the corner with a ledger and a telephone. We don't use much technology for the business side of things. It’s mostly just word of mouth and people stopping by. The ceiling fans don't do much against the heat, but we have a water cooler that gets a lot of use. We’ve been at this spot for years and know all the neighbors. It’s just a regular engineering shop doing regular work for regular people.
