Sri Basaveshwara Rice Corner

You can find us at 433/2 on the Hebbal Manjusar Savli Road. We are directly opposite the Srushti Apartment building. If you are driving along that road, you will see the bags of rice stacked up. We deal with many types of rice, and people from the apartments across the street often come over to pick up their monthly supply. Hebbal is a busy area, and this road gets quite a lot of trucks and cars passing through. Most of my day is spent weighing rice and talking to customers about what they need for their kitchens. Lifting the heavy sacks is hard work, but it’s what we do here. The shop is filled with the smell of different grains. We try to keep a good variety so people have choices depending on what they are cooking. It gets a bit dusty with all the bags being moved around, but we sweep it out every morning. Sometimes the delivery trucks arrive late because of the Hebbal traffic, which can be a bit of a headache. I’ve been running this rice corner for a while and I know most of the families who live in Srushti Apartment. They usually send someone over in the evenings to grab a bag or two. It’s a basic business, no fancy displays, just good rice and honest work. We stay open late most nights to make sure everyone can get their food.
