Spice Zone

Over in Basaveshwara Nagar 4th Block, 3rd Stage, you’ll find us at number 326. That’s where Spice Zone is. We aren't a big restaurant, just a local place where people come when they don't feel like cooking at home. The kitchen is always hot and there’s usually the smell of spices in the air, which I guess is why we have the name. We spend a lot of time chopping vegetables and making sure the supplies are fresh. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we see the same faces quite often. We know who likes their food extra spicy and who wants less salt. We don't have a fancy menu with photos or anything. It’s just a list of what we can cook that day. Sometimes we run out of something early and have to tell people we’re sorry. That’s just how it is when you’re small. We handle the deliveries ourselves most of the time, or people just walk over and pick up their bags. It’s a simple way to run a business. We don't have big dreams of opening ten more branches. We just want to make sure the food we serve today is as good as what we made yesterday. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy and the neighborhood seems to like having us here. We keep the stove going and the doors open every day.
