Southern Spices

Southern Spices is our little operation over in Banaswadi. We are at 115, Vidya Dayanak Colony, not far from the Outer Ring Road. The traffic there is always a bit much, so it’s quieter once you get into the colony. We spend our days sorting and packing different spices. The smell inside the shop is very strong—you get used to it after a while, but visitors always notice it right away. We don't have a big staff. It's just a few of us working together. We get our spices from different places and try to keep everything as fresh as we can. It’s not a high-tech warehouse. We do a lot of the weighing and bagging by hand. Sometimes the scales act up and we have to double-check everything. It’s a bit tedious but it has to be done. We’ve been in this spot for several years now. People from around the colony know where to find us when they need something for their cooking. We don't do any big advertising. We just put a sign out on the main road and talk to people. It’s a steady business and it keeps us out of trouble. We like being in Banaswadi. It’s a good place to be. We are just local people selling what we know best to folks who need it for their daily meals.
