Sookshma

We are based out of the J C Industrial Estate, right near Nalanda School. It’s on the 5th Main Road off Kanakapura Road. Being in an industrial estate means it’s never really quiet. There is always the sound of someone loading a truck or some machine running in the unit next door. Our space is mostly functional. We have a lot of benches and tools scattered around because that’s the nature of the work. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to just browse around. Usually, people come here with a specific purpose or a part they need looked at. The air is always a bit metallic smelling, and the floors are concrete and stained. We’ve been in this unit for quite a while now. The school nearby means there’s a lot of activity when classes let out, but otherwise, it’s mostly just us and the other industrial workers. We have a small kettle in the corner for making coffee, which is how we start every morning. It gets pretty hot in here during the summer months since the roof is tin, but we have a couple of big fans that help a little. We don’t really bother with fancy signs or anything like that. If someone needs us, they usually know where to find unit 39. We just focus on getting the daily tasks done before the sun goes down.
