About Sonar Bangla – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
Malleshwaram is a nice neighborhood, and we are tucked away on 17th Cross, 2nd Stage. The building number is 88/1. Most people who come here are looking for the kind of food they grew up with. It’s a small place, and the kitchen takes up a lot of the space because we do a lot of cooking from scratch. We get our fish and vegetables early in the morning. The kitchen smells like mustard oil and spices almost all the time. The tables are basic wood, and the chairs are just simple ones that we’ve had for years. We don't have a lot of staff, so you might see the same person taking your order and then bringing out the plates. It gets busy during lunch, with people coming from the nearby houses and offices. We don't have air conditioning, just the fans on the wall that spin around. Sometimes it gets a bit warm inside when the stoves are all going at once. We keep the water jugs filled on the tables. It’s a very plain atmosphere, but that’s because we focus more on what’s happening in the pots and pans. We don't do anything fancy with the plating. The food just goes on the plate and gets served while it’s still hot. It’s a family kind of vibe, where everyone just gets on with their work and the customers know what to expect.
