You can find us on CMH Road in Rabindranath Tagore Nagar. Shreedevi Andhra Cuisine is a name that people around here know. We focus on the food we grew up with. It’s spicy and we don't hold back on the chilies. If people can't handle the heat, they usually tell us pretty quickly. The lunch rush is the busiest time. Every table is full and people are waiting outside on the sidewalk. It gets a bit chaotic. I’m usually in the back making sure the rice is cooked right. We use a lot of spices that we get sent from our home town. It makes a difference. The interior isn't anything special. We have plain tables and the lighting is a bit bright. But people come for the food, not the decor. We’ve had the same cook for five years now. He knows the recipes by heart. We don't use measuring cups much. It's more about how it looks and smells. Sometimes we run out of the specials by one o’clock. If you come late, you might miss out. That’s just how we run things. We don't have a fancy manager. I handle the cash and talk to the customers myself. It’s a lot of hours and my feet usually hurt by the end of the shift. But seeing people finish their plates makes it worth it.
