Shiv Sahai & Sons is located at 60/61, NSC Bose Road. We are also tucked into 1 Nalasima Daraji Lane. It’s a very old part of the city and the streets are quite narrow. You have to be careful walking down the lane because there’s always someone moving a cart or carrying a heavy load. Our shop has been around for a long time. It’s a family thing, passed down through the years. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling and they are packed with all sorts of things. It’s a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together but we know where everything is kept. We don't use fancy inventory software. We just remember or check the handwritten ledgers. The NSC Bose Road area is always humming with people and noise. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. We spend our days talking to customers and sorting through stock. Sometimes we sit on the wooden benches out front and watch the world go by when things are quiet. It’s a traditional way of doing business. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just find us by walking through the lane. It’s worked for us for decades and we don't see any reason to change it now. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in. It's a simple life.
