Shanthi Sagar

Shanthi Sagar has its home in Basavanagudi, specifically in the Rustampura area on Mominvada 3. It is a neighborhood spot where things are always moving. We open up early to catch the people heading to work, and the kitchen stays busy until we shut the shutters at night. The place is decorated very simply, with plain tiles and sturdy furniture that can handle a lot of use. You won't find any soft cushions or quiet corners here; it is a place meant for eating and then moving on with your day. The sound of the coffee being poured and the steam from the cooker is the music we have. We see the same people every day, like the old men who live nearby and the workers who need a quick break. Sometimes the service is a little slow when we are short-handed, but we do what we can to keep the line moving. We don't have a big team of people doing marketing; we just rely on the fact that we have been on this corner for a long time. The windows usually have a bit of steam on them from the cooking, and the door is always swinging open and shut. It's a bit of a hectic environment, but that is just how things are in this part of town. We are just here doing our thing day after day, making sure the food is ready for whoever comes in.
