You’ll find Shanthi Sagar at 635 on the 100 Feet Ring Road in Koramangala 6th Block. If you've ever been to this part of town, you know the Ring Road is always jammed with traffic. We are right there in the thick of it. The restaurant is pretty straightforward with metal tables and chairs that are easy to clean. We open up early because people in Koramangala want their breakfast before they head to the office. The kitchen is always noisy with the sound of plates and the steam from the idli cookers. I’ve worked here long enough to know the orders of several people who stop by every single morning. We don’t do anything fancy with the decor. It’s just a place to eat and move on. Sometimes the overhead fans make a bit of a clicking sound, but nobody seems to mind. The staff stays busy running back and forth between the kitchen and the dining area. During lunch, it gets very crowded and people often have to share tables. It’s just the way it works here. We don’t have a mission statement or any of that corporate stuff. We just make sure the food is hot and the coffee is strong. Being on the 100 Feet Road means there is a lot of dust from the street, so we are always mopping. It’s a lot of work, but it’s what we do every day.
