Shanthi Food House

We run Shanthi Food House out of the Chandrakiran Apartment on Netaji Road in Frazer Town. Our place is C 402, so it’s more of a home-based setup than a big commercial kitchen you might see on the main road. Being in an apartment means we have to be mindful of the neighbors while we are cooking and moving things around. Frazer Town is a busy place and Netaji Road always has something going on, but up here in the apartment, it’s a bit more contained. We started this because we wanted to provide food to people in the local area who don't have time to cook for themselves. Most of our day is spent in the kitchen preparing ingredients and packing up meals. It’s a simple operation and we handle everything ourselves, from buying the groceries to making sure the food is ready for pickup or delivery. We don't have a big menu or anything, just the items we are comfortable making every day. The space is small, so we have to stay organized or it becomes a mess very quickly. We see a lot of the same customers from the surrounding buildings who just want something simple to eat. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of cooking and cleaning in a small space, but it keeps us busy. We've been doing this for some time now and it's just our daily life in Bangalore.
