I'm Santosh Kumar, and I run my engineering practice out of Madiwala in Bangalore. Specifically, I'm on the second floor of No-14, which is on 2nd Cross, Srinavasa Temple Street in Maruthi Nagar. If you know Bangalore, you know how busy Madiwala can get. The traffic outside is always humming, but once you get up to the second floor, it’s a bit quieter. I’ve been a Senior Engineer for a long time, and I’ve seen this city turn into something completely different from when I started. My office is full of rolls of blueprints and old journals. It’s a bit messy, to be honest, but I know where everything is. Living near the temple street means I hear the bells and the chanting sometimes, which is a nice break from thinking about load-bearing walls or electrical circuits. People come to me because they know I’ve been around the block a few times. I don't have a receptionist or a PR team. When you call or visit, you just talk to me. Bangalore is a fast-paced place, but I try to keep my work steady and methodical. I don't like to rush things because that’s when mistakes happen. It’s just me in my workspace, trying to solve the puzzles that engineering throws my way. It’s a good life, even with the heavy Bangalore traffic and the crowded streets of Maruthi Nagar that surround me.
