Being on Graphite India Road means dealing with the traffic every single day of the week. Agie Charmilles P is located at No. 31-1 in Seetha Rama Palaya, which is a busy area for this kind of engineering work. The workshop floor is always humming with some kind of activity. We deal with machines that need a lot of precision, so there is a lot of staring at screens and checking parts over and over. It is not really a place for relaxing. The air smells like coolants and freshly cut metal. We have high ceilings but it still feels packed when we have several projects going on at once. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know the daily routine. We take our breaks together in the small room at the back and talk about the commute or the heat. The road outside is always under some kind of repair, so it is constantly dusty. We have to keep the equipment clean, which is a battle every single day. It is an industrial vibe, nothing fancy or corporate. We have some plastic chairs for visitors, but mostly people are on their feet working. The lighting is very bright so we can see what we are doing with the small parts. It is just a steady grind of making things and shipping them out to customers who need them.
