Sarala Birla Academy School

We are situated out on Bannerghatta, Jigani Rd, which gives Sarala Birla Academy School a bit of a different feel compared to schools in the middle of a crowded city. It’s a bit of a drive to get here, but once you arrive, there is a lot of space. We deal with the typical challenges of being a bit further out, like coordinating transport and making sure supplies arrive on time. The building is quite large and takes a lot of effort to maintain. Our staff stays busy looking after the facilities and the grounds every day. We have students who spend a lot of their time here, so it feels more like a home than just a workplace for many of us. You’ll see people walking between the different blocks throughout the day. The kitchen is usually a hive of activity, preparing meals for everyone on a tight schedule. It can get pretty quiet in the evenings when the sun goes down over the trees. We don’t really do the whole corporate image thing; we’re just a group of people making sure the school runs the way it should. There’s always a list of things to do, from fixing a fence to updating the computer room. It’s a practical life here. We enjoy the fresh air and the fact that we aren't surrounded by skyscrapers. It’s a place where you can actually hear the birds in the morning.
