We are located at No.25, Shanthi Nilyam in Narayanappa Block. It’s on the 3rd Cross, quite close to the Royal School in Marappa Garden. Having a school nearby means the mornings are always loud with the sounds of buses and kids running around. We usually start our day well before the school bell rings. Our kitchen is where we spend almost all of our time. It’s a practical space, filled with big pots, stacks of plates, and the smell of spices. We do a lot of cooking for family events and local gatherings. Most of the work is repetitive—cutting heaps of vegetables, checking the rice, and making sure the spices are balanced. It’s hard on the feet, standing on the tiles all day long. Sometimes we have to work through the night if there’s a big breakfast order for the next morning. Our family helps out when things get really hectic. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that; we just rely on the fact that we’ve been in Marappa Garden for a while and people know where to find us. Delivering the food can be tricky because the lanes around Narayanappa Block are quite narrow, so we have to be careful with the van. We just focus on our cooking and keeping the kitchen running smoothly, day in and day out. It’s a lot of physical labor but we are used to the routine of it all by now.
