Sanoath & Balaji Architects

Sanoath & Balaji Architects is basically just our workspace in Byrasandra, over in J P Nagar 6th Phase. The exact spot is 367/22, which can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't familiar with these lanes. We’ve got a couple of desks pushed together and a lot of pens that always seem to run out of ink when you need them. Me and Balaji have been working together for a while, mostly dealing with residential stuff around this neighborhood. It’s not a corporate office with a big sign. Most of the time, the floor is covered in rolled-up charts and dusty boots from visiting construction sites. We spend a good chunk of our day arguing over where a window should go or why a certain beam won't work the way we thought. It’s a lot of back and forth with clients and builders. J P Nagar is a nice area, though it’s gotten a lot more crowded lately. We like being based here because we can get to most of our projects quickly. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up, eating snacks and staring at computer screens until our eyes hurt. It isn't always glamorous work, and there’s a lot of paperwork that nobody likes doing. But we enjoy the process of seeing a house go from a flat drawing to something people actually live in. We just keep it simple and focus on the bricks and mortar.
