Down in Domlur, things move at their own pace. Salon Oriel is tucked away in the 2nd Stage, 4th Phase area. It’s pretty close to the ISRO Quarters, so we get a lot of people from around there. The neighborhood is mostly quiet compared to the main roads. We open up every morning and sweep the front. The shop has been here for a while and the chairs have seen a lot of use. It’s not a big corporate place. Just a simple setup where we do what we do. You can hear the birds in the trees sometimes when the traffic dies down. Being near the quarters means we know a lot of the families. We see the kids growing up and the parents getting older. It’s just a part of the local life here in Bangalore. We don’t spend much on decorations or fancy stuff. The mirrors work and the water is usually warm enough. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait for it to come back. That's just how it is. We keep the magazines on the table even if they are a few months old. It feels like a normal part of the day to be here. Not much changes from year to year, which is fine by us. We just keep the door open and wait for whoever needs a trim. It is just our little spot in Domlur where we spend our days.
