About Sahaja Dry Fruits & Spices – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
Our shop is tucked away in Munnekolala, specifically at Shop No. 2 on Lakshmi Narayan Temple Road. If you are in Marathahalli, you probably know the area gets quite busy. At Sahaja Dry Fruits & Spices, we spend most of our day weighing out cashews and bagging up different kinds of peppers and powders. The smell in here is quite strong because of all the cloves and cinnamon sitting around. We aren't a big chain or anything. It’s just a small space where we keep the bins full. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars and making sure the lids are on tight so nothing goes stale. People stop in on their way home to grab a small bag of almonds or maybe some turmeric they forgot for dinner. It's a lot of measuring and chatting with neighbors. Sometimes the labels on the bags are a little crooked because we do it all by hand. We get our supplies from the same people we've known for years. It isn't a high-tech operation. We use a simple scale and paper bags when we can. The floor is usually a bit dusty from the spice sacks, but that’s just how a spice shop is. We’re usually here until late evening. If the lights are on, we’re probably just finishing up some inventory work in the back. We might be sweeping up or just reorganizing the cardamom jars before we head out.
