S S Kamaran Centre

We are over at 43 Gandhi Nagar, right opposite the Tribhuvan Theatre. It’s a lively spot to be in. Since we are so close to the theatre, we get all the crowds and the excitement when a new film starts. S S Kamaran Centre is located in an older building that has a lot of character, though the elevator is a bit slow sometimes. Our space is filled with the usual stuff you’d expect in a local business office. We have some wooden cabinets that have been here since we opened. The windows look out onto the street, and it’s a good place to watch the world go by during lunch. Gandhi Nagar is a maze of streets, but number 43 is fairly easy to spot. We spend our mornings sorting through things and getting ready for whoever might walk through the door. It’s not a corporate headquarters with glass walls. It’s more of a place where we sit down, have some tea, and get to work. The carpets are a bit thin in spots, and the ceiling has a few water stains from a leak we had last monsoon. We just do our thing here without much fuss. Most of our regulars know us by name, and we like it that way. It’s a comfortable, worn-in kind of place. We keep the doors open during the day and close up once the last show at Tribhuvan starts.
